MIDNIGHT MURMURS
I knew our time together had taken a bad turn
You kept saying quit worrying it’s all right
Uncertainty was slowly wearing me down
Then my whole life changed late one night

I heard you whisper her name in your sleep
In every breath I could feel your lies and schemes
The truth cut deep into my heart and soul
Midnight murmurs were invading my dreams

You’d promised me you were through with her
But you were dreaming of her embrace
Her name lingered in the darkness of night
I laid awake with tears running down my face

I’m not gonna play second fiddle to her
My sleep talking lover you better beware
One last thing I’ll do for you is pack your bags
I'm breaking free of your midnight affair

Too many times I heard your lies and schemes
But no more midnight murmurs invade my dreams
